刘易斯(Clarence Irving Lewis 1883～1964),美国哲学家、逻辑学家，概念实用主义的创始人。生于马萨诸塞州，就读于哈佛大学，1906和1910年分别从该校获学士和博士学位。1911～1920年任教于加利福尼亚大学。1920年起被聘为哈佛大学教授，一直到1953年退休为止。他曾从师J.罗伊斯学逻辑，后来提出了严格涵蕴的概念，建立了一种模态逻辑系统。
